Privacy Policy

Privacy Policy: Quick Answer

Fortune Scouts collects very little about you. We have no accounts, no sign-up forms, and no ads. We keep the emails you choose to send us, and we use a basic visitor stats tool to count page views.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for targeted advertising.

This privacy policy explains what information Fortune Scouts (fortunescouts.com, “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects when you visit the site, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies only to this website. It does not apply to casinos, poker rooms, or any other site we write about or link to.

Effective date: October 30, 2026

Information We Collect

Information You Give Us

The only way to contact us is by email. When you write to us, we receive your email address, your name if you include it, and anything you put in the message. That can include stories about your own play, a casino you had trouble with, or a correction to one of our guides.

Please don’t send us account passwords, card numbers, bank details, Social Security numbers, or copies of ID. We never ask for them, and we don’t need them to answer you.

Information Collected Automatically

When you visit the site, some technical information is collected automatically. This includes your IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, the pages you view, the page that sent you here, and the date and time of your visit.

We use Jetpack Stats, a service from Automattic, to count visits and see which pages people read. Jetpack Stats gives us totals and trends, such as page views and top pages. We use it to decide which guides to update and what to write next, not to identify you. Automattic handles that data under its own privacy policy at automattic.com/privacy.

Our web host also keeps standard server logs, which record requests made to the site. These logs help keep the site secure and working, and they are kept only as long as the host needs them for that purpose.

Information We Do Not Collect

We don’t run user accounts, comments, newsletters, contests, or payment pages. We don’t knowingly collect sensitive information, such as financial account numbers, government ID numbers, health information, or precise location.

How We Use Information

We use the information described above to:

  • Read and reply to your emails.
  • Fix errors and improve our guides, including corrections and player reports you send us.
  • Understand which pages are useful, so we know what to update.
  • Keep the site secure, prevent abuse, and fix technical problems.
  • Meet legal obligations and protect our rights.

If you send us a player report or feedback, we may describe what you reported in our content, but we won’t publish your name or email address without your permission.

Cookies and Tracking

Cookies are small files a website saves in your browser. Fortune Scouts does not use cookies for advertising. Our stats tool and our web host may use cookies or similar technologies to count visits and keep the site running.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site will still work if you do.

We don’t currently respond to “Do Not Track” browser signals, because there is no common standard for them. We don’t track you across other websites, and we honor Global Privacy Control signals where state law requires it.

Some links on Fortune Scouts may be affiliate links. If you click one and later sign up or deposit at that site, we may earn a commission. The operator usually tracks the referral with its own cookies or a tracking link. The operator, not Fortune Scouts, controls that tracking.

When an operator pays us, it may share reports with us, such as how many sign-ups came from our links. These reports do not identify you to us by name.

Any site you visit from a link on Fortune Scouts has its own privacy policy. Once you leave our site, that site’s policy applies. Read it before you create an account or share personal or financial information.

How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, which is ads targeted at you based on your activity across other sites.

We share information only in these cases:

  • Service providers. Companies that host the site, provide our email, or run our stats tool process data for us to provide those services.
  • Legal reasons. If the law, a court order, or a government request requires it, or if we need to protect the rights, safety, or property of Fortune Scouts, our readers, or others.
  • Business transfers. If Fortune Scouts is sold or merged, information may transfer to the new owner, who must follow this policy or tell you about any change.
  • With your permission. In any other case, only if you agree.

How Long We Keep Information

We keep emails as long as we need them to reply to you, follow up on a correction or report, or keep a record of the conversation. You can ask us to delete your emails at any time. Stats data is kept in summary form. Server logs are kept by our host for a limited time for security.

How We Protect Information

We use reasonable steps to protect the information we hold, including a secure (HTTPS) connection on every page and limited access to our email account. No website or email system is 100% secure, so we can’t promise that information will never be accessed without permission.

Your Privacy Rights

Depending on the state you live in, you may have rights over your personal information. Residents of states such as California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, and others with consumer privacy laws may have the right to:

  • Know what personal information we have about you.
  • Get a copy of it.
  • Correct information that is wrong.
  • Have it deleted.
  • Opt out of the sale of personal information or targeted advertising. We don’t do either.

We give these same choices to every reader, wherever you live. To make a request, email us at fortunescouts@gmail.com from the address you used to contact us.

We may need to confirm your identity before acting on a request. You can use an authorized agent where the law allows it. We will not treat you differently for using any of these rights.

California residents: in the last 12 months, the categories of personal information we have collected are identifiers (such as email address and IP address), internet activity (such as pages viewed), and the content of messages you send us.

We collected them from you and your browser, for the purposes described in this policy. We have not sold them or shared them for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Age Requirement

Fortune Scouts is written for adults 21 and older. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 21, and we never knowingly collect it from children under 13. If you believe someone under 21 has sent us personal information, email us and we will delete it.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this privacy policy when our site, tools, or the law changes. When we do, we’ll change the effective date at the top of the page. If we make a major change to how we use personal information, we’ll say so clearly on this page.
